Bloomberg: Russian billionaires add 26.9% of wealth in Jan–Feb
MOSCOW, Mar 1 (PRIME) -- The aggregate wealth of Russian billionaires increased 26.9% in January–February, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI) released on Wednesday.
The founder of USM Holdings Alisher Usmanov’s capital increased by U.S. $1.2 billion to $14.1 billion. The president of aluminum giant UC RUSAL Oleg Deripaska added $521.3 million to his capital, while the main beneficiary of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) Viktor Rashnikov gained additional $900.3 million. The chairman of the board of directors of Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) Vladimir Lisin’s capital rose $850.2 million.
The owner of fertilizer producer EuroChem Andrei Melnichenko, the head of Renova Group Viktor Vekselberg, Mikhail Prokhorov, and Mikhail Fridman also became wealthier.
Alexei Mordashov, Gennady Timchenko, and Vagit Alekperov, on the contrary, lost $362.8 million, $26.8 million, and $551.8 million, respectively.
The index is calculated on the basis of shares value and financial reports of companies, in which the billionaires hold stakes.
